Description of the course: « Survival Chinese »
The aim of the « Survival Chinese » workshops is to quickly give you the means to talk and get around China by yourself. Beginners welcomed !
The workshops are co animated by a Chinese and a foreigner and one theme is explored each week. Within four weeks the essential vocabulary to ask for directions, order food, bargain and do some basic conversation is covered.
This teaching method focuses on the spoken part of the language without forgetting the great help that Chinese characters bring. Each course begin with an introduction to Chinese language (tones, pinyin, characters, structure of a sentence) then carry on with the theme of the week.
The courses, run on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm, are held in a beautifully renovated hutong situated in an old part of Dongcheng. At the end of the workshop, we all join to practice outdoors !
