Tickets > Ballet: Don Quixote (Bolshoi Theatre 2010 China Tour)
Don Quixote is honored as the most joyous and festive classical ballet so far. Interestingly, it made its debut at the Bolshoi Theatre, which will show this play at the NCPA. The ballet originated from a novel of the same title created by the great Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. Minkus, the famous Russian ballet composer who was considered as the successor of Tchaikovsky, composed the music, and Petipa, a renowned master as a ballet director, choreographed this ballet. Together with Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote is called as the classic typical works in the stage of ballet in the 19th century.
